Ursula Torbett

For the last 30 years, Ursula Torbett has been a stay-at-home mom of three children, two of which are now grown and married, with children of their own making her a grandmother of seven beautiful grandchildren. Jorden, her handsome 15-year-old son, is the last chick in the nest and when he’s not working on school, Lads to Leaders, or playing Xbox, he is helping to care for their two dogs and 29 chickens. On Graduation Day from Freed-Hardeman University, she not only obtained a degree in art but also secured her MRS degree by marrying her college sweetheart, Rick Torbett, who is currently the manager of the Hobby Lobby in Jackson, Tennessee. Some of her favorite things to do are teaching, cooking, sewing, crafting, decorating, hiking, camping, and working with the Lord’s church participating in camps, campaigns, mission trips, VBS, teaching, and such. She loves working with children and has been privileged to work with Palmetto Bible Camp in South Carolina for 17 years and the Horizons program at FHU for 20 years receiving service awards for both. The 2021 school year marks her 11th year as a tutor and director for Classical Conversations, helping parents classically educate their children. After living 18 years in South Carolina, Pinson, Tennessee has become her
family’s new and favorite home.
